Shelter Named One of North America’s Best Bars
We made the list — and then some.
We’re incredibly proud (and still a little stunned) to share that Shelter has officially landed on the North America’s 50 Best Bars extended list, coming in on the newly launched 51–100 ranking for 2025.
This marks the very first year that the North America’s 50 Best Bars organization has expanded its annual list to include an additional 50 spots — and we’re beyond honoured to be included in this inaugural expansion, standing shoulder to shoulder with some of the most creative, thoughtful, and passionate bar programs across the continent.
The list is compiled by over 300 anonymous industry experts, including bartenders, bar owners, writers, and drinks professionals from all over North America. It’s humbling to know our little cocktail den in Calgary is being recognized on a stage this big — and by people who truly know their spirits.
At Shelter, our aim has always been to push the boundaries of what a cocktail experience can be. From working with active aroma compounds to rethinking classic drinks, and developing entirely new combinations that centre on story, texture, and depth — we love what we do, and we’re thrilled to see that passion resonate beyond our four walls.
